New career center launches for HBCU professionals

Job hunting just got a little bit easier for recent HBCU graduates and other professionals. HBCU Lifestyle, a platform that provides news, awareness, and information on all things HBCU life and culture, such as Greek life, scholarships, careers and life after college, announced its new HBCU Career Hub. The new platform aims to connect job seekers at any stage of their career with opportunities.

“Providing HBCU students and alumni with opportunities for professional development and career growth are core to our mission to preserve the Black College tradition,” said Garrick Gibson, co-founder of hbculifestyle.com. “HBCU talent is highly appealing to employers because they’ve demonstrated a commitment to the highest levels of integrity and training. Our website serves our members by providing a clear connection with small to large organizations that value and seek the skills, expertise, certifications, and training they have to offer.”

Different from other job sites, hbculifestyle.com allows HBCU students and alumni to post anonymous resumes so they can be recruited without revealing their full information. Email newsletters and job alerts are sent to those registered to facilitate perfect matches.

The career center portion of the online site will be powered by YM Careers, a prominent cloud-based source of job websites and career centers for specialized members.

Established in 1998, YM Careers “empowers associations, organizations, nonprofits, and other companies worldwide to deliver more value to their users, drive revenue through innovative career centers and buyer’s guides, increase their relevance using ground-breaking engagement tools, and enhance overall operational efficiencies.”
