Hennessy, Nas, Marcus Graham Project uplift Black entrepreneurs

International leader of cognac sales, Hennessy, is furthering its historical commitment to Black communities with the Never Stop Never Settle Society, which launched March 29. In collaboration with the Marcus Graham Project (MGP) Hennessy will offer qualified Black entrepreneurs funding, NYC office space and mentorships.

“The Never Stop Never Settle Society builds on Hennessy’s ongoing mission to champion cultural diversity by pushing the limits of potential for Black entrepreneurs,” said Jasmin Allen, Hennessy US Senior Vice President. “We aim to expand on that legacy by providing access to capital and resources to those demonstrating the ability to reshape Black communities.”

American Black business life has a proud history, something not lost on Never Stop Never Settle’s creators. With HBO’s Watchmen having honored the 1921 Tulsa Massacre, overdue attention has been paid to Black Wall Street. To launch the initiative, Hennessy and MGP tapped hip-hop stalwart Nas, who highlighted Tulsa’s famous Black Wall Streeters with his creative work “Dear Destiny.”

“Nearing the 100-year anniversary of the Tulsa Massacre,” Nas said. “I believe the spirit of Black Wall Street is still strong and can be revived with programs like Hennessy’s Never Stop Never Settle Society.”

Dear Destiny” aired at the 52nd NAACP Image Awards on BET.

Hennessy and MGP know the best way to honor Tulsa’s Greenwood District is by boosting today’s Black entrepreneurs. On Tuesday, April 6, the Never Stop Never Settle Society will accept applications, providing funding, resources and infrastructure to qualified businesses.

“Hennessy’s participation in the Black community has transcended typical corporate action,” said Lincoln Stephens, co-founder and CEO of MGP. “And I’m excited to be part of this next chapter that uplifts entrepreneurship as a means towards closing the wealth disparity.”
