Howard University and Management Leadership for Tomorrow Launch Suite of Programs to Improve Career Outcomes for Students

Howard University is partnering with Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) to provide their student population with access to multiple college-to-career programs that will help students maximize job opportunities upon graduation.

Nearly all Bison undergraduate students  in good academic standing will have access to at least one MLT program. Each program will be provided at little or no cost to participants. Key program benefits include expert coaching, access to potential employers, and a personalized career roadmap. MLT program participants will also join a supportive and accelerating network of more than 8,000 MLT alumni across the United States.

“We’re excited to partner with MLT to bring these programs to Howard students,” said Debbi Jarvis, senior vice opresident of corporate relations for Howard University. “The success of our students is a top priority and MLT’s programs will help students as they chart their path to a successful career.

“MLT has more than 20 years of experience improving career outcomes for young people of color. About 95% of our college-program Fellows secure summer internships, and 90% of our graduate college with a job offer,” said Rosalie Schraut, Managing Director for MLT.

MLT is a national nonprofit working to transform leadership pipelines and increase access to the American Dream. Currently, employment and job quality outcomes for college graduates of color are dramatically worse than those of their white peers. Sixty percent of Black, Latinx, and Native American students who graduate from four-year colleges start their post-graduation careers unemployed or with jobs that do not require a college degree, according to the Center for Economic Policy and Research.
