Dear Howard University Community,
On Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 5:30 p.m., Provost Anthony Wutoh will host a town hall meeting for students and parents regarding the planning for the Spring 2022 term at Howard University. The omicron variant has increased the number of persons exposed to COVID-19, not only in the District of Columbia, but all over the United States. As a consequence, the University has already taken steps to provide additional safeguards for students, faculty and staff by requiring all to have the booster shot no later than January 31, 2022 and delaying the start of the Spring term to January 18, 2022 for undergraduate and graduate students.
The purpose of this town hall meeting is to provide additional information about our preparations for the upcoming semester, with an emphasis on health protocols in light of the omicron variant. The goal for the Spring 2022 term, like the Fall 2021 term, remains a return to in-person instruction in as safe an environment as possible.
In addition to Provost Wutoh, the following panelists will participate in this town hall.
- Kenneth Anderson, Ph.D. Associate Provost for the Office of Undergraduate Studies;
- Kylie Burke, HUSA President;
- Tashni-Ann Dubroy, Ph.D. Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer;
- Cynthia Evers, Ed.D., Vice President, Student Affairs; and
- Hugh Mighty, MD, Dean of the College of Medicine and Vice President of Clinical Affairs.
We would like to encourage you to attend this town hall and to submit your questions on this topic in advance. You may submit your questions using the link below by Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 12 p.m.
