The annual North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Alumni Homecoming has a headliner this year that guarantees to “Woo Woo” Aggies. On Friday, Oct. 28, The Foundation for N.C. A&T State University, Inc. is rolling out the golden carpet with Grammy-nominated, R&B singer Jeffrey Osborne and special guest, Loose Ends.
The Aggie Alumni Homecoming Concert will offer a dinner for all ticket holders that begins at 7:15 p.m. The show time for the concert is 8:30 p.m. in the Guilford Ballroom at The Koury Convention Center, in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Osborne, a native of Providence, Rhode Island, is a former member of L.T.D. as the drummer and eventually the lead vocalist. L.T.D. is best known for their hits, “Love Ballad,” “Back in Love Again,” and “Holding On.” In the 1980s, Osborne kicked off his solo career and garnered hits with “Stay with Me Tonight,” “You Should Be Mine (The Woo Woo Song),” “On the Wings of Love,” “We’re Going all the Way” and “Only Human.”
Osborne’s solo career has earned him four Grammy nominations, and five gold and platinum albums.
This year’s opening act, Loose Ends, was one of the top British dance and urban contemporary trios throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s. The group is best known for its hits “Hanging on a String,” “Slow Down” and “Watching You.”
For ticket sales, the Office of Alumni Relations will conduct a donor priority period the week of Aug. 29. Ticket sales will open to the general public the week of Sept. 6.
