STEM-Majors Receive $200,747 in Funding for Scholarship Support to Attend Hampton University

Hampton University announced today that it has received a $200,747 grant from the Amateur Radio Digital Communications Foundation. ThisĀ private foundation supports amateur radio and digital communication science and technology. Funding received will be used to establish scholarship funding to support for students majoring in STEM-related fields who may experience a gap in funding, who needs tuition assistance, or who may have a financial need.

The Amateur Radio Digital Communications Foundation has a preference be given to students enrolled in electrical engineering and/or computer engineering study areas. Mr. Eugene Marshall, Hampton Universityā€™s Director of Athletics and involved in cultivating this scholarship opportunity, said, ā€œWe appreciate the generosity of the foundation in assisting to cultivate the next generation of highly trained leaders in sought-after fields. We are anxious to begin work with the foundationā€™s leaders to introduce them to our students and begin the exciting work of growing future STEM-professionals.ā€
