In celebration of homecoming weekend, Howard University has announced that it will team up with Neutrogena® and its brand ambassadors Chloe and Halle Bailey to bring an unforgettable experience to the university’s renowned Yardfest event, taking place Friday, October 21.
In the spirit of making its dermatologist-backed skincare products and skin expertise more accessible to those of all skin types and tones, Neutrogena will pop up at Yardfest with its first-ever “The Skin Lab by Neutrogena” – a destination for product education and sampling suited to the needs of students’ lifestyles and skin types. The Skin Lab will be open from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.
Chloe and Halle Bailey are slated to make an appearance at The Skin Lab by Neutrogena, and will also take to the Yardfest mainstage for the first-ever Bison Family Battle by Neutrogena – a special “game show” where the duo and a group of Howard students will compete for prizes and bragging rights. The first round of Bison Family Battle kicks off at 3:00pm.
Neutrogena will also utilize its presence at Yardfest to create lasting impact for the Howard student body and beyond. Visitors to The Skin Lab by Neutrogena will be encouraged to sign up for Hutano, a social health platform for Black and Brown communities. Through Hutano, members can join the SkinU by Neutrogena page for ongoing access to education and community support when it comes to caring for skin of color. For every Hutano sign up, Neutrogena will pay it forward to the Howard community via a $2-per-sign up donation to Howard University’s School of Dermatology, supporting its commitment to the next generation of diverse dermatologists.
Next month, Neutrogena will also host a special campus appearance by one of its most well-known dermatologist partners – Dr. Hope Mitchell – who will take part in a panel discussion at the Howard University College of Medicine Department of Dermatology, sharing learnings and serving as inspiration to students as they collectively track toward making the field of dermatology more diverse and inclusive. Dr. Mitchell will be joined by fellow dermatologists from the department, as well as several Howard student scholars from the Pathways program -an initiative created in collaboration with the American Academy of Dermatology to increase the number of practicing dermatologists who are underrepresented minorities in medicine over the next five years.
