Since 1876, Stillman College has impacted preparing leaders to drive for change. You, too, can make a difference for 1 day, 8 hours, and 76 minutes. The Give1876 effort allows the community to make a significant impact by contributing to more than 30 programs and student organizations.
Dr. Yolanda W. Page, Stillman College president, said the event holds immense significance as the institution celebrates its 147th anniversary.
“It’s a day of unity, purpose, and the opportunity to invest in the future of our institution,” said Page. “Every donation, no matter the size, contributes to our mission of providing a world-class education to our students.”
The goal for Stillman College’s Day of Giving is to raise $250,000 to support the various programs and student organizations. Donors can choose from passion projects ranging from academics to athletics and departmental giving and student experiences and wellbeing.
Additionally, donors can support the Stillman College Greek Challenge, which is designed to allow alumni to celebrate the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood that span the decades at Stillman while also helping to continue the mission to generate support for Stillman College. As we look to the future, we plan on continuing to break records, but we cannot do this without your help.
The Greek Challenge plays a vital role in impacting our students, faculty, and staff and spreading the Stillman mission.
“With the bonds that fraternities and sororities hold, the Greek Challenge is a perfect avenue to engage new Stillman supporters and connect them with what we are building in Tuscaloosa, said Tyler Davidson, Director of Philanthropy. “As this year’s Challenge progresses, Stillman asks you to reach out to your network of brothers and sisters and encourage them to get involved and make a difference in the future of Stillman College.”
During the 32-hour-plus window, campus organizations will compete for top honors on the Day of Giving Leaderboard, giving the organization that raises the most bragging rights for the year. Stillman College encourages everyone to join the Giving Day celebration by spreading the word on social media using the hashtag #Give1876. Your support will significantly impact our students’ lives and our institution’s future.
The Give1876 Advocate Toolkit contains downloadable graphics to share across social media channels and encourage others to give to Stillman. Social media graphics specific to each program or school are available to download and share.
