Dr. Ruthie Little-Berry Named Chief Student Development and Success Officer at the University of the District of Columbia

Ruthie Little-Berry, Ph.D., was appointed Chief Student Development and Success Officer for the University of the District of Columbia on September 12 by the University Board of Trustees.

Little-Berry joined the University as the Chief Student Development and Success Officer on November 1, 2023. She is an experienced administrator and accomplished higher-education professional with a reputation for effecting change.

Prior to UDC, she was the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success at Florida A&M University. Little-Berry’s work led to definitive changes to retention and graduation rates, transfer rates from community colleges and the overall size of the University’s applicant pool.

Little-Berry also co-chaired the team responsible for implementing the University’s student success framework – which was instrumental in improving retention and graduation rates.

Additionally, she established the Office of Transfer Student Services, which created seamless pathways for transfer students from state community colleges, facilitating their transition and ensuring their success at the University.
