Historically Black,Ā Livingstone CollegeĀ in North Carolina, continues to benefit from anonymous donors. The schoolĀ announced WednesdayĀ that they received a $1 million anonymous donation, ā the fourth consecutive anonymous donation of $1 million.
President Anthony J. Davis announced the donationĀ last Friday, April 19Ā to members of the Salisbury-Rowan community and several of the collegeās faculty and staff. Livingstone says that the donor has been a consistent and dedicated supporter of the collegeās mission and vision.
Proceeds from this donation will be usedĀ to support a campus residence hallĀ refurbishment project. This donation follows the collegeāsĀ Innovation Lounge GrantĀ award during the 2024 Retool Your School Program, which is sponsored by Home Depot.
Retool Your School is a multitiered project designed to provide grants to HBCU campuses to be used for campus improvement projects that promote sustainability and long-term benefits to the campus and students. That particular grant will allow Livingstone to enhance existing spaces on the campus where students can gather to collaborate.
This announcement alsoĀ comes less than three weeksĀ before Livingstone Collegeās May graduation, which will feature itsĀ first cohort of graduatesĀ through the collegeās MBA program.
Livingstone ā a private historically Black college ā provides business, liberal arts, STEAM, teacher education, and workforce development programs for students from all ethnic backgrounds. The college promotes lifelong learning and the development of studentsāĀ potential for leadership and service to a global community through a Christian-based environment suitable for holistic learning.
