Howard University Hosts Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Renovated Office of Intercultural Affairs and LGBTQ+ Resource Center, Sponsored by IKEA

 Howard University announces the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Office of Intercultural Affairs and LGBTQ+ Resource Center, made possible through a generous sponsorship from IKEA. The event will take place today, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. on the ground floor of the Blackburn Center at Howard University. 

The renovation of this vital space reaffirms Howard University’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by providing a welcoming, supportive environment for students from all cultural backgrounds and identities. The Office of Intercultural Affairs and LGBTQ+ Resource Center will continue to serve as a hub for advocacy, education, and community-building for students of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and international origins. 

IKEA’s partnership with Howard University underscores the company’s dedication to social responsibility and creating inclusive spaces. Through their sponsorship, IKEA has outfitted the renovated center with modern, sustainable furniture and decor to enhance the comfort and functionality of the space.
