Livingstone CollegeĀ in Salisbury, North Carolina, has received a $10 million gift from an anonymous donor in support of the private historically Black collegeā€™s ongoing capital campaign,Ā HBCU GamedayĀ reports.

The gift, which follows another $10 million gift from the same unnamed benefactor in July 2024, will be used for renovations and upgrades to the Goler Hall and Honors Hall student residences, part of Livingstoneā€™s ā€œMiracle on Monroe Streetā€ construction initiative.

According toĀ HBCU Gameday, Livingstoneā€”founded in 1879 and affiliated with the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Churchā€”has a student body of fewer than 1,000 students. It has received $40 million in private contributions since Anthony J. Davis (ā€˜01) became the schoolā€™s 13th president in October 2022. That financial momentum has coincided with a 13 percent rise in student enrollmentā€”outpacing Livingstoneā€™s public HBCU counterparts across the state.

ā€œWe are humbled that Livingstone received a philanthropic investment of this nature, which will enable us to provide environmentally sensitive residential spaces for our students,ā€ said Davis.
