With New Orleans set to host the 12th Annual UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball, the city gears up for an evening dedicated to supporting the education of students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Scheduled for Saturday, at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, the fundraiser promises not only a night of celebration but also a reinforcement of UNCF’s mission.
The event includes a VIP Reception at 6 p.m., a general reception followed by dinner and a program at 7 p.m., and live entertainment slated for 9 p.m. provided by none other than En Vogue, as reported by the City of New Orleans.
In anticipation of the event, City News’ Kourtney Williams engaged in a discussion with Dr. Monique Guillory, President of Dillard University.
During the interview that took place ahead of the event, Dr. Guillory elucidated on the “transformative impact of HBCUs and the vital role UNCF plays in shaping the future of students,” as stated by the City of New Orleans. Offering a glimpse into tomorrow’s celebrations, wherein education, empowerment, and legacy take center stage, the conversation underscored the resonance of HBCU contributions within the Black community.
Catering to individuals making a difference in student lives across the nation, the UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball has been a staple in valiant fundraising for scholarship provision. Contributions that night power a vision rooted in opportunity and access, redirecting the course and amplifying the voices of students from HBCUs.
