GloRilla Electrifies the Bayou Classic Halftime Show

The 52nd Annual Bayou Classic in New Orleans got an extra jolt of energy this year, thanks to an electrifying halftime performance by Grammy-nominated rapper GloRilla. The Memphis star took the field at the Caesars Superdome, fusing her signature Memphis grit with the celebrated tradition of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) event. 

In a highly anticipated appearance, GloRilla headlined the halftime show in partnership with adidas and delivered a dynamic set alongside the storied Grambling State University World-Famed Tiger Marching Band and the Orchesis Dance Company. The performance was a high-octane celebration of Black college culture, blending the rapper’s raw energy with the band’s precise, powerful brass arrangements. 

GloRilla, fresh off the success of her latest projects, thrilled the crowd with hits like “TGIF” and “Let Her Cook.” She made a powerful statement ahead of the event, noting, “The Bayou Classic is a huge moment for HBCU culture, and performing with adidas and Grambling State is really special. Being on the field with these students, seeing them represent their school and community, is powerful.”  

The collaboration was a memorable cultural moment, showcasing the seamless blend of contemporary hip-hop and the rich, exhilarating legacy of HBCU marching band spectacle. GloRilla’s appearance ensured the annual rivalry game between Southern University and Grambling State University ended its weekend-long festivities with a definitive, unforgettable bang.
