Disgraced media mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs’ release date from prison has been changed once again.
Combs is now expected to be released on Feb. 5, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He was previously scheduled to be out on Feb. 20, 2028, about two weeks later. No official explanation has been provided as to why the date was changed.
However, in July, records showed he was slated to be out on Jan. 24, 2028.
At that time, the change in release date came as Combs was reportedly placed in solitary confinement following a fight. The altercation allegedly began after another inmate said something to the “I’ll Be Missing You” singer that allegedly sparked the confrontation. It is unclear whether the solitary confinement is temporary or long-term.
It’s important to note that release are subject to adjustment based on factors such as inmate conduct and earned credits.
The rapper and producer is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence at the low‑security Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Combs was sentenced to four years and two months in federal prison in October of 2025 after being convicted of transporting people across state lines for sexual encounters. He was acquitted of separate sex‑trafficking and racketeering charges that carried potential life sentences.
Prosecutors said the 56-year-old spent years flying girlfriends and male sex workers around the country for drug‑fueled sexual encounters in multiple locations.
He was convicted under the Mann Act, a federal law that prohibits transporting people across state lines for illegal sexual activity. Defense attorney Jason Driscoll argued that the statute was misapplied in Combs’ case, the Associated Press reported.
The Bad Boy Records founder’s legal team continues to appeal his conviction.
