Albany State University
Founded in 1903, Albany State University is a public historically black university in Albany, Georgia. In 2017, Darton State College and Albany State University consolidated to become one university under the University System of Georgia. Albany State University has two campuses in Albany and a satellite campus in Cordele.Albany State UniversityĀ (ASU) was recently ranked among the nation’s top Historically Black Colleges andĀ UniversitiesĀ and the #1 publicĀ HBCUĀ in theĀ stateĀ of Georgia, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 list of top ranked colleges andĀ universities.
AlbanyĀ is ranked among the topĀ universitiesĀ in Forbes’ āAmerica’s Best Public Colleges,ā and U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks many of our graduate programs among the top 50 in the United States, including clinical psychology, criminal justice, library and information studies, public affairs and public health.
