After two years of virtual get-togethers and Zoom events, Meharry alumni returned to Nashville to gather for their class reunions for class years ending in “2” and “7.” This year, however, attendees from other class years came as well to take part in the College’s first Homecoming celebration. The event drew nearly 400 alumni, spouses and guests back to Nashville to see classmates, friends and acquaintances.
Special events were held for those attending that included an invitation-only Alumni Circle dinner for those who have generously supported Meharry at an exclusive level in recent years; a rooftop gathering where the first “10 Under 10” were introduced—a selection of young alumni who support the institution while making a difference in the health care field and their communities; a special alumni event at the National Museum of African American Music; the Alumni Family Picnic and the Alumni Scholarship Gala.
The celebration also offered anniversary events for 25th- and 50th-year alumni, a “Jazz on the Lawn” event, a golf tournament, continuing education courses and other gatherings. Here are a few images from some of the events.
