Chris Paul Honors HBCU Students With Hometown Hero Award at PlayersTV OwnersFest

PlayersTV’s Ownerfest, which took place on Saturday, saw Chris Paul honoring three HBCU students with an award, as well as a performance from Fabolous and Jeremih.

The Grammy-nominated acts headlined PlayersTV’s Ownerfest, an exclusive red-carpet event presented by Ray-Ban Meta. Bubba Dub and Ashley Nicole Moss hosted the inaugural fest at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts on February 14, marking the kickoff to NBA All-Star Weekend 2025.

In addition to the musical performances, Ownerfest featured the PlayersTV Players Honors Awards Ceremony presented by Walmart,, which celebrated achievements in the sports world. This year’s honorees included Chiney Ogwumike (Trailblazing Woman Honor), as well as PlayersTV athlete-owners Kyrie Irving and C.J. McCollum, highlighting the community work they’ve done.

The event also saw the unveiling of three new verticals. There’s PlayersTV+, a subscription-based, on-demand platform that can be accessed via mobile app and PlayersTV Studio, a production studio that’s owned by athletes and fans,.Additionally, PlayerSync, an AI tool that “dubs and mouth-syncs athlete content in over 30 languages, providing a more personal and accessible viewing experience than traditional subtitles,” was also announced on Friday.

Founded in 2020, PlayersTV is touted as the first media platform owned by athletes and their fans.
