We’re getting old guys! Former Philadelphia Eagles DeSean Jackson and Michael Vick are coaches now. We remember when these guys were freshmen in college.
We remember watching D-Jax house one vs. the Tennessee Volunteers at Cal (2007) and watching Vick torch the Florida State Seminoles in that 2000 Sugar Bowl, albeit in a losing cause.
We’ll never forget where we were when we saw Mike lead the Birds back from a huge deficit vs. the hated New York Giants. We’ll never forget DeSean ending that day with another ‘Miracle at the Meadowlands’. What a game!
Oh, and who can forget the Monday Night Massacre and that first bomb from ‘7’ to ’10’? But, here we are. D-Jax is the HC at Delaware State now, and Vick leads Norfolk State. Their paths now lead to one another.
DeSean Jackson’s Delaware State Hornets host Michael Vick’s Norfolk State Spartans on November 1st during the HBCU football season.
What an offense ad great group of skill players it was. Michael Vick… LeSean McCoy… DeSean Jackson… Jeremy Maclin… Jason Avant… Andy Reid certainly wasn’t void of weapons. Two of his pupils will lock horns during the HBCU football season in 2025.
DeSean, allow us to reintroduce you to Mike Vick!
Vick was named Norfolk State’s head coach on December 20th. D-Jax was named Delaware State head coach seven days later (and two days after Christmas).
Now, we all are promised a gift. Two great Eagles on the sideline for a celebration of this game we love. Even if you aren’t a fan of the Birds, this is worth a watch if you’re a fan of this great game of football.
Both will enjoy tune-up games before this, but you have to believe both guys have this one circled on their respective schedules.
