Morgan State Receives Donation From HBCU Change And Koons Automotive

Morgan State’s Athletic Department received a donation in the amount of $25,000 on Saturday, Feb. 1 during the women’s and men’s doubleheader basketball games at Hill Field House.

Team members of Asbury Automotive in partnership with HBCU Change and Koons Automotive Group presented the check to Morgan State President Dr. David Wilson and Vice President/Director of Athletics, Dena Freeman-Patton.

“We are grateful for this impactful gift and look forward to a continued relationship with HBCU Change,” said Freeman-Patton.

Since May 2021, Asbury Automotive has partnered with HBCU Change to support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) across the country. HBCU Change, started by Xavier Peoples, is an interactive philanthropic platform with the mission of raising $1 billion for HBCUs over the next five years. Since the partnership, as of December 2024 they have raised over $1.5 million for HBCUs through guest donations and company match efforts.
