Free immersive STEM enrichment workshop for students in grades 5-8 at Dillard

Courtesy of Dillard University Dillard University is partnering with Verizon to offer a free immersive enrichment open house workshop, Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers, for middle school students, 5th-8th grades, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on November 5. The event will be on Dillard’s campus in the Professional Schools Building, room 131-135. Students will learn about design thinking, 3D printing, augmented reality and social entrepreneurship. The workshop is inclusive and welcome all genders and nonbinary youth. The workshop includes a full-day open house with tours of Dillard’s campus. Maryland Dept. of Commerce Continues Support of Morgan State University With Center for Urban Health Equity Endowment

Courtesy of Morgan State University For a second consecutive year, the Maryland Department of Commerce has awarded Morgan State University funding via the Maryland E-Nnovation Initiative (MEI), a state program created to spur basic and applied research in scientific and technical fields at Maryland-based colleges and universities, to support a new research professorship. By D. Miller  Dillard University is among a number of institutions that recently received the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The $1.3 million award is part of a five-year grant designed to provide support services and to encourage eligible undergraduate students to pursue graduate education leading to doctoral degrees. The grant coincides with Dillard’s mission as well as other efforts to increase the number of Dillard graduates entering graduate studies.
