Howard University Senior Selected for Andscape 2021-2022 Rhoden Fellowship

By Aaliyah Butler Howard University senior journalism major Monet Heath (B.A. ’23) has been selected for the 2022-2023 Rhoden Fellowship, a year-long journalism training program with Andscape, formerly known as the Undefeated. Two Xavier Students Announced as 2022 HBCU Scholars by White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities

Courtesy of Xavier University of Louisiana The White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity through Historically Black Colleges and Universities announced its ninth cohort of HBCU Scholars, recognizing 86 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students for their accomplishments in academics, leadership, civic engagement, and much more. The scholars were selected from a competitive pool of over 350 students. Applications also required the signature of their HBCU president or designated HBCU faculty, adding a level of prestige to this application process. Atlanta native & 87th Miss Xavier University of Louisiana, Nina Giddens, and Chicago native, Diamond Williams were selected as 2022 HBCU Scholars.

SAU’s Anthony Jeffries Named CIAA Sports Information Director of the Year

Veteran Sports Journalist Anthony Jeffries recently was named 2021-22 CIAA Sports Information Director (SID) of the Year at the CIAA Spring Meeting Awards Ceremony in Baltimore on May 17, 2022.
