Courtesy of Prairie View A&M University For the second year in a row, Boeing will be honoring over a dozen HBCUs, including Prairie View A&M University, during its CST-100 Starliner’s second Orbital Flight Test on May 19. Flags and other items from the schools will be among hundreds of pounds of cargo launching from Kennedy Space Center in Florida during the uncrewed flight test to the International Space Station. Howard Acquires Historic Gordon Parks Photo Collection

By Misha Cornelius Howard University and The Gordon Parks Foundation today announced a historic acquisition of 244 photographs representing the arc of Gordon Parks’s career over five decades. The breadth of the collection—which spans Parks’s earliest photographs in the 1940s through the 1990s—makes it one of the most comprehensive resources for the study of Parks’s life and work anywhere in the world. The Gordon Parks Legacy collection, a combined gift and purchase, will be housed in the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center. Organized thematically by subject into 15 study sets, the photographs serve as a rich repository for the development of exhibitions and multidisciplinary curricula

Tuskegee Vet School Honors Class of 2022 Graduates

By Tuskegee University The Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine (TUCVM) Class of 2022 had 47 new doctors of veterinary medicine recognized on April 30.  Tuskegee University held its in-person Spring Commencement Graduate and Professional Schools Ceremony at the General “Chappie” James Center followed by the college’s in-person Veterinary Medicine Oath and Hooding Ceremony at the university’s Chapel.  Thirty of the 47 students graduated with honors. They included four “Summa Cum Laude,” eight “Magna Cum Laude” and 18 “Cum Laude.”  Both ceremonies were live-streamed for those not in attendance to view and are also available on the university’s YouTube channel

Grambling State Honors Golden Graduates with Reunion Events

The graduate Class of 2022 celebrated 70 seniors who have completed the undergraduate Nursing Program.
