Howard University Charter Day 2022 Goes Virtual

Written by the Howard University Newsroom Staff The 2022 Howard University Charter Day celebration titled, “The Annual Charter Day Program: A Virtual Experience” will broadcast on Saturday, March 5 at 7 p.m. This year, the festivities for the 155th anniversary will continue as a virtual event. Traditionally a black-tie gala, the virtual celebration will remain a fundraising event with the proceeds supporting Howard students. Since 1943, awards have been presented to alumni during the celebration for their distinguished postgraduate achievements in a variety of fields. To date, more than 300 alumni have been honored. FAMU Earns $66M in Grants, Eyes R1 Research Status

FAMU secured $66 million in research awards in 2021. Florida A&M University (FAMU) has maintained its Carnegie R2 – High Research Activity – designation for the third consecutive year. By Meharry Medical College The Metropolitan Historical Commission of Nashville and Davidson County has approved the erection of a historical marker as a memorial for Dr. Josie E. Wells—one of three female 1904 graduates of Meharry Medical College, its first female faculty member and Meharry President Dr. George W. Hubbard’s administrative right hand. In collaboration with President James E.K.
