Morehouse College has moved up to No. 4 on the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) list, according to the 2022 U.S. News and World Report rankings, up two positions since 2021. The College also moved up 27 spots to No. 128 in the National Liberal Arts Colleges rankings. Morehouse College has the No. 2 business program among HBCUs and the program is ranked No. 190 nationally.

- 18 in Top Performers on Social Mobility (No. 3 in Georgia; No. 1 among institutions men can attend in Georgia)
- 36 in Best Undergraduate Teaching (No. 2 among HBCUs; No. 1 among HBCUs men can attend)
- 42 in Most Innovative Schools (No. 2 among HBCUs; No. 1 among HBCUs men can attend)
Morehouse College’s rise in the national rankings comes as the College experiences an unprecedented intensity in pedagogical innovation, increased applications from high-performing students, and enhanced financial positioning. This year, the College continued its record-breaking fundraising, launched the only online degree program centered on the experiences of Black men, developed game-changing virtual reality applications in instruction and recruitment, and expanded its noted small business development curriculum and engagement through the launch of the Center for Black Entrepreneurship. Morehouse has also taken a novel approach to integrated, impactful news coverage and content development by launching the new Journalism in Sports, Culture, and Social Justice degree program. The College welcomed the most new students on record this fall with 973 residential and online students.
