Grambling State, UB Partner for Online Master’s Degrees

Scott Boatright The international impact of Grambling State University (GSU) was strengthened during the April University of Louisiana System board meeting as approval was granted to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Belize (UB). The MOU sets up a path where UB graduates can work on and complete graduate degrees in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Grambling State University. Savannah State Hosts 200th Commencement with Donnie Cochran

By Savannah State University On Friday, May 6, the 200th commencement ceremony of Savannah State University will be held at T. A. Wright Stadium located on the university’s campus. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and will also be live-streamed. More than 365 students will receive master’s, bachelor’s, and associate degrees. Esteemed alumnus, Capt. Donnie Cochran, U.S. Navy, retired, will serve as the commencement speaker. Cochran, a 1976 graduate of Savannah State University, earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology and is the first African-American aviator to be selected to the United States Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron.

Southern University Leads $4M NSF 3D Metal Printing Project

By Southern University Patrick Mensah, associate dean for research and graduate programs in the College of Sciences and Engineering at Southern University, was recently awarded a $4M grant from the National Science Foundation to develop a qualification process for 3D-printed metal parts. The goal is to provide both manufacturers and consumers confidence and assured safety of products made with 3D-printed parts, which are used regularly by various industries such as automotive, healthcare and aerospace.
