Xavier University 95th Commencement Honors Leaders

By Xavier University of Louisiana On Saturday, May 7, 2022, Xavier University of Louisiana will host its official 95th commencement ceremony in person at the University Convocation Center. There will be two separate graduation ceremonies, the first at 10 a.m. for the College of Pharmacy and the second at 2 p.m. for those graduating from the College of Arts and Sciences. Anthony Anderson Graduates from Howard University at 51

By Joelle Goldstein Anthony Anderson is a Howard grad! The former Black-ish actor, 51, earned his diploma from Howard University in Washington D.C. on Saturday. Anderson celebrated the exciting moment on Sunday with an Instagram post, in which he called his graduation “a full circle moment” that was “30 years in the making.” He also shared several photos from the big day, including one with fellow actor and Howard grad, Taraji P. Henson, who delivered the commencement address at the ceremony, and Phylicia Rashad, the current Dean of Howard University’s Chadwick A. FAMU Boosts Hurricane Readiness Ahead of Storm Season

By Florida A&M University With the Atlantic hurricane season less than a month away, the Florida A&M University (FAMU) Senior Leadership Team (SLT) participated in a hurricane preparedness exercise and training session on May 3. The Florida Division of Emergency Management also participated in the exercise. “The hurricane preparedness exercise helped us to contemplate scenarios and issues that we have to be ready for, especially living in Florida. This state has been impacted by three hurricanes over the last four years,” said FAMU President Larry Robinson, Ph.D. In 2017, when Hurricane Michael tore through the Big Bend, classes at FAMU were disrupted.
