Shaw University Awarded $150K for Historic Preservation Plan

By Shaw University The National Trust for Historic Preservation, through its HBCU Cultural Heritage Stewardship Initiative, awarded more than $650,000 in grants to five Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to fund Cultural Heritage Stewardship Plans. Shaw University received $150,000 and will use the funds to preserve important architecture, historic assets, cultural landscapes, and collections, which represent more than 150 years of learning, growing, and empowerment for students, faculty, and alumni. Coppin State Hosts Maryland Governor Forum April 26

Two ASU Honors Students Selected for UCLA Research Program

Courtesy of Albany State University Two of Albany State University’s (ASU) honor students have been selected to participate in the Evolutionary Medicine Research Program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The two-month program is set to begin in June. Talyia Griffin, a senior biology major, and Bevin Glanton, a senior forensic science major, will conduct research with UCLA professors. Tuskegee Joins $360M NOAA Water Research Consortium

By Tuskegee University Tuskegee University will take part in the University of Alabama led consortium awarded $360 million over the next five years by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The consortium will focus on translating water research into operations to improve the nation’s ability to predict water-related hazards and effectively manage water resources.
