Albany State University

Founded in 1903, Albany State University is a public historically black university in Albany, Georgia. In 2017, Darton State College and Albany State University consolidated to become one university under the University System of Georgia. Albany State University has two campuses in Albany and a satellite campus in Cordele.Albany State University (ASU) was recently ranked among the nation’s top Historically Black Colleges and Universities and the #1 public HBCU in the state of Georgia, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 list of top ranked colleges and universities.

Albany is ranked among the top universities in Forbes’ “America’s Best Public Colleges,” and U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks many of our graduate programs among the top 50 in the United States, including clinical psychology, criminal justice, library and information studies, public affairs and public health.
