Mastercard to Partner with Spelman and Leading HBCUs to Further Black Economic Inclusion Efforts
By Jazmyn Burton Mastercard today announced a $5 million grant to support the forthcoming Center for Black Entrepreneurship. EstablishedĀ in partnership with theĀ Black Economic Alliance Foundation,Ā and located on the campuses of Spelman and Morehouse,Ā the CBE will serve as an incubator for high-potential, Black owned start-ups,Ā andĀ a new generation of Black entrepreneurial talent. The grant will fund new adjunct faculty, the creation of an online entrepreneurship programĀ and support the development ofĀ experientialĀ courses that will enable students to put their classroom instruction intoĀ practice. āWe are excited by the possibility of building an entrepreneurship curriculum within our outstanding department of economicsāĀ said Mary Schmidt Campbell, Ph.D., president
