Alcorn’s Dr. Carson Named President of MS Educators Group

Courtesy of Alcorn State University Mississippi’s largest professional organization for educators has selected an Alcorn State University faculty member to guide the organization for the upcoming academic year. Dr. LaShundia Carson, acting associate dean for the School of Education and Psychology, was elected president of the Mississippi Professional Educators. Carson served as the faculty advisor for the organization’s student chapter on campus. The organization is a statewide professional organization whose members come from all aspects of educational systems in the state. JSU, MCC Partner to Offer Seamless Transfer, Tuition-Free Path

JSU President Thomas K. Hudson, J.D., and Thomas M. Huebner, Ph.D., president of MCC, signed the agreement on April 22, while surrounded by faculty and staff from both institutions. Tougaloo College Secures $1.27M to Restore Historic Mansion

Courtesy of Tougaloo College Historic Tougaloo College is proud to announce it was awarded $270,000 by the National Park Service for the interior preservation of the Robert O. Wilder Building, known as the Mansion. In addition, the Tougaloo College Research Development Foundation, Inc. has been added to Mississippi Senate Bill 2002, which earmarked $1 million for the interior repair and upgrades to the Mansion.
